Pics
I came on here the other day to post updated pics of my hollands but I guess I never hit "submit" when I was finished posting. Well here they are, the chinchilla, the black tort and harlequin, Chewy, Brownie and Caramel

I love all the picture of the new kits! And I have to say, with all the cute pics of the Lion Heads - they are definitely growing on me!

Lionheads are a fun breed, it took one picture for me to be in love.

I would really love to start on Holland Lops, but everyone does them where I live.

That's how it was when I lived in CT years ago - a ton of Holland Lop breeders, anything else I wanted I had to take quite the hike for. When I moved here to Upstate, NY I was actually surprised to find a Holland lop breeder right in town - it's a very small town but it's out in farm country. So all three hollands are from her and I believe she wants to use the chinchilla buck when he is old enough to breed.

Heres a few of mine (pic heavy)

Zeus (he looks pretty rough when I got him he cost $5 bucks because he was all battle scared and was 8 years old but in his prime he was a show rabbit and won ribbons, they thought he wouldn't be around much longer but he's going on 9 and just fathered a litter of 9 healthy kits)

May

Donner

Bambi (buck)

Bambi's son

Bambi's son 2

Bambi's daughter

Flemish (possible mixes, mother looks Flemish but I'm thinking she is not pure to throw these colors)

anyone know what these black rabbits color would be called?

Just wanted to share our newest fur family members. They were given to me a few days ago by someone. Man I could just snuggle up against Arnold all afternoon - he's soooo stinking soft! Tomorrow I'll put some xmas updates of the wee little ones

Arnold, a mini rex buck

Oscar, a Lionhead buck - he's cleaner now that he has had a bath, which he helped with :)

Maizy, a mini lop doe (I was also given her sister Miss Piggy a few wks ago & they are almost twins!)

Awwwww look at Zeus!!!! That's amazing, how great of you to get him. As for the last one -- It's body looks like a dark agouti, I'm not sure if there is a name for it though since it has that black face & legs/feet. Bunnylady was on before, maybe she will check back again soon & be able to help more!

Just a quick question, all those rabbits are beautiful by the way, I just received the pedigree for the black lionhead doe I bought, and on it it has back four generations, but it doesn't have anything on her. They just put a picture of her on the top, and the pedigree stops at her parents, nothing to prove that the pedigree belongs to her except a picture. Is this acceptable? Or does there need to be proof that it is the rabbit's pedigree. I hope that makes sense.

You should at least have her birth date on the pedigree. If she isn't tattooed, you don't have an ear number yet (though you can assign one). Until she is a senior, you don't have a weight, either. She won't be eligible for registration until she's a senior, so you don't have a registration number. Name, gender, color and winnings are the only other things that I can think of that are usually on a pedigree. While a picture is a pretty snazzy detail, a picture taken as a baby wouldn't get you very far toward identifying whether it's a buck or doe, for example. You need to fill the rest out yourself.

It is fine as long as you know the birthdate. If it is not on there, contact the breeder and get it. You can fill it in yourself. Most breeders only have the birthdate on there because they print out copies of the pedigree for the other litter mates, and leave the buyer to fill the information in as the rabbit matures.
