I dont know what type of bunnies i have. they were rescued from stupid people who were done with bunnies and left them under a porch to rot in the hutch. Poor bunnies. THey found a wonderful home with us though. Both are female Can you tell me the breed? Can kits of whatever these are be used for meat?
Technically any rabbit could be used for meat, but if these are mini rex they would be worth more to you as pets. Mini rex are popular pets. If they are standard size (around 8lbs) you could breed them for meat. I have a standard rex doe that I use for that purpose, but I cross her with my palomino to improve meat type in the kits.

We have 2 rabbits in my house. My oldest daughter has a huge angora rabbit and she isn't the friendliest, but she is a rescue and she responds to my daughter well. My youngest daughter has a lion head she got for her birthday and she is the sweetest little rabbit. If I could I would have one for myself but my husband made me promise not to bring anything else home, for now :)

My daughter grooms her often and if she has any mats we try and clip them so she isn't uncomfortable. She seems to enjoy the brushing, she just lays there looking like a huge white bathmat, lol
We trim her nails as well and she takes it pretty good. She was an adult when we got her and was loaded down with mats and looking uncomfortable. It took about a week to get the fur situated :p
Now she seems fat and happy and hopefully we will be able to let her outside some when it's not so cold here. She has a nice hutch under some trees which I think she will enjoy once we can get her on a schedule with it. Fingers crossed :)

Is anyone going to be at the PASRBA Show in Lebanon, PA this weekend? I will be there Friday night and Saturday. I am hoping to bring home a new addition!

I'm, of course, not going, but good luck!
I'm going to a show this weekend too, hoping to get a really nice Lionhead buck for my junior doe.
