I think it was a blockage.
I wiped the area with a warm cloth. I then put him into a small, unfamiliar pen to encourage him to move around and explore. Then I moved him and his sister into their own cage with hay on a solid floor. I took out the nest box and put in easily accessible food and water bowls. He wasn't eating any pellets or drinking any water because it was all outside of the nest box and he never left the box. He was surviving only on his mother's milk. Now that he's out of the nest box and moving around, I think it helped get his system moving again. I checked his bottom just recently and the swelling has seemed to have gone down, also, he has solid, normal colored droppings.
It definitely isn't vents disease, the pus was coming directly from his genital opening. I think maybe it was urine, but because he wasn't eating or drinking, the color and substance was milky. I know that sometimes kits get blockages, I'm hoping that's all it was. I'm still going to be monitoring him closely, he isn't as active as his sister yet, but I think I'm in the clear. Now if only his butting teeth would correct themselves...

OK I need bunny help. I have 2 does in a cage I use for kindling. It's a wood frame cage with wire and divided in the middle. I have a does with 4 kits. Matter of fact I was coming in today to post these pics. But in a minute.

Went out to fill waterers and feed bowls and the babies are all over the cage, so I was so happy to see them out already. Thought it would still be a few days since not all have eyes open, but they were all over. All however, except the white one. I looked behind their box and nothing. I checked around and was so sure someone had come into the yard or somehow it got out and a cat got it. My heart sunk to my stomach. I opened the other does pen to add feed and one of the 3 remaining kits pushed through the back and was squeezing into the other does side. I grab it and put it back and went to see how in the H**L it got through. The back wire was pulled loose all the way across the bottom back facing a brick wall. I ran for tools and struggled to pull that heavy thing out and screwed everything back down. Then I went looking for a bunny I knew I'd never find.

My Marans have been eating eggs, so I noticed a hen in the box. Figured I'd better check before they got another and I have a long old fashioned trough feeder that I add different things for them in. The baby was right smack in the middle between the wire insert. I'm still working on that pen and its all big birds, so the hardware cloth isn't on it yet.

He seems unhurt, but a little weak and he didn't move at all when I picked him up. I put him in with the others and he sniffed and moved but just a little. He's just sitting in the same spot in the box where I left him. I'm thinking he may have missed a feeding and is dehydrated, but not sure what to do.I'm hoping he isn't so weak momma won't feed him. I can hold all 4 of these kits in one hand and I don't have huge hands, so they are very tiny. Any ideas what I should do? I'm going back out to make sure the doe hasn't hurt him, but they were only kindled on the 30th of April, so they're really young too.

I have small bottles, but I put some water water in it and I can get it to squirt out for me, even after making the hold bigger and he isn't trying anyway. I don't have anything to use for tube feeding and I haven't done that at all in decades. I have supliments for puppies here, but not sure what to use. I tried a syringe with a drop or 2 of water jut at his teeth and he at first looked like he was going to open his eyes more, but he's so weak!!!

If you can, bring the doe in and hold her with her belly up and put the little one on her belly. He 'should' nurse and hopefully get his strength back. Keep him in for now at least and feed him this way morning and night.

Thank you. He was really weak and I tried for a while to get milk replacer into him, but I lost him. Was really wanting to keep this one too.

At least I know I tried. I bred that doe to a REW and this one was the only REW I got, so I had wanted to either keep it or give it to my niece, who's been waiting for a bunny. She's been waiting for one for a long time. The others are up moving all over. I've never had babies this active before 3 weeks! They're amazing. Their eyes just started opening. One just has slits and it's still all over the pen.

If they haven't been handled much and are already starting to get aggressive, it will take a lot of work and diligence on your part to tame them. It would probably be easier if they had separate living quarters.

1. Bring them treats (carrots, dandelion, etc) and just pet them rather than picking them up for now.
2. Probably wise
3. They are establishing dominance. Yes, it's normal.
4. Not significantly, but it would probably help them get along a bit better.
5. If they respond well to treats and gentle handling, probably.

What a sweet and complete answer. Thank you so muchfor taking time to do that. I spent the whole day in the chicken yard and the bunnies were loose. They were much better at the end of the day, I think just having me around all day and ignoring them. I will go ahead and have them spayed.
