My doe is doing the same thing at five months. Made a complete nest. Spent the next two weeks ignoring it. This can apparently be triggered by a hormone rush from another rabbit and it usually tells you... They're ready to be bred! I'd wait a while to make sure it's not something crazy happened (like breeding through a cage wall which happens) and then you can breed her.

Sometimes false pregnancies are triggered by a shift in hormones....check out her little lady bits, If they are darker toned such as dark pink, to purple, She may very well be ready to breed, as with humans and other mammals they can mature at various stages, sounds to me she is ready, I'd go ahead and breed her...especially is shes a smaller to medium type bred,

A lot of people will tell you that rabbits don't do "heat" like a lot of animals do, but they do experience hormonal peaks and valleys. A doe hits a hormonal peak immediately after kindling. Sometimes, a doe that hasn't been bred will go through the nesting dance when she hits a hormonal peak. They are especially bad about choosing the "wrong" time to do it - I remember someone commenting that she needed to choose which rabbits she was taking to a big show, so the does could start pulling fur, lol.

You could breed her right now - she has as good as told you that she's ready to roll! Or, you could wait another month - she may very likely go through this performance again.

What do people know about the Satin breed? Anybody have any experience in raising these rabbits for meat? And idea how hard it is to get/maintain from one line to the next a good sheen on their fur to make them show-able? I think the satins are just the breed I have been looking for if they make as good of meat bunnies as some of these NZW type rabbits.

Feel free to ask anything, anytime...I just went through 2 false Pregnancies on the same day :( ..it was kind off odd. both of my New Zealand whites were bred on the same day, and then both had false pregnancies exactly 2 weeks later on the same day lol! go figure! It was really a bummer...I want to invent preg test for rabbit im suprised they havent yet...Ya know little sticks like "keto sticks" that you could catch the pee on lol lol lol it would make ALOT way for easier for ALL of us wouldnt it...I waste so much time waiting for kits, cause re breeding is never 100% and neither is Early nest building which could resemble a false pregnancy. Just imagine knowing after 1 or 2 weeks, That would save soooo much time if they didnt take lol
