It is! It's their first litters. My Flemish giant never took so theirs will be the first batches of the year for me! I'm hoping to end up with blue and broken blue along with black and broken black in one litter and probably black/broken black or chestnut and broken chestnut from the other. Mom's are broken black and broken chestnut bred to a blue :)

Nope :) my does will totally bolt for the pampass grass so they go in a fenced area lol my bucks want love more than freedom and a few clicks (sorta like I clicked for horses) he comes running lol good chin scratch he's butter in my hands. But yes theoretically he could bolt and I would be chasing the white rabbit! :gig
Aw. He doesn't run away?

Haha you are so funny. I first had does that I rehomed and they were awful when I let them out. They dug into the neighnor's yard, bit and scratched, and growled when it was time to go back in the hutch, so I guess I was nervous about letting my bucks out when we got them. Later I learned that only the does dig. My bucks are so sweet. Never bite or scratch or growl. I've let them out in confined areas, but I get nervous. I would never let them out of the chicken yard bec of the dogs but maybe I could try them on a bit more freedom this summer. Lying on your belly under the oak tree in the dirt is cooler than the hutch even though I put ceramic tile and a fan in a shaded area.

Yay!!, I bought a harness for my bunnies yesterday. Have any of y'all had any experience with those?

Can't wait to see the baby pictures!!

I bought a harness for our NZX. One tolerated it. The other wanted nothing to do with it. Pretty much their personality when it comes to just about everything. Now they get to free range in the back yard so I haven't tried the harness in a long time. I don't want to bring them out front on the harness due to loose pets in the neighborhood.

Best of luck on the decision regarding the future of your rabbitry - I just love the red NZ. Not sure what the market would be for them but they sure are beautiful to look at IMO.

Happy Sunday Everyone.

We have an adjustable cat harness that my daughter has used on a bunch of rabbits over the years. Some have seemed to enjoy being "walked," others just sit and eat. Some have totally freaked! Even with those that enjoy it, it's often rather like walking a cat - it walks you, rather than the other way 'round. Not to say that rabbits aren't trainable - some people train them to jump jumps on a lead (or off!)
