While I could never eat one of mine, French lops were originally bred for meat production. My pair are very efficient on feed they actually eat less than my mini lop pair.Plus the buck weighs in at almost 25 lb.I could see were french mixes would make great meat animals.

Is that a typo? Your buck is almost 25 pounds? Good Lawd. Now I have to go consider that for my DH.

No its not a typo, he is huge (even for the breed). The doe is smaller only about 18 lbs, that is more typical.

It is suddenly getting ridiculously cold (seriously I'm in the south & it's getting below freezing over night, we're almost to May!!!!)
Mama doesn't really seem to be on her nest at night, should I bring them in the house?
I'm afraid the babies will freeze.

My doe had eleven new kits on the 15th and it dropped into the 30s the other night. I was so scared but peeps here said they'll do great, and they did!

What do you mean "on her nest"? Rabbits don't sit on their nests nor monitor them at all except during feeding time in the morning and night. In fact wild rabbits only are near their nest for about 10-20 minutes a day, to draw predators away from the nest. The system works... And if they pulled enough fur and are well sheltered the kits will handle just about anything. But they sure aint gonna sit on the nest to keep the kits warm like birds!

so the lady I was planning on getting my Thrianta bunny from, it just didn't work out.. she just kept changing her mind and re-saying something completely different than what she had said before and it was just too suspicious for me but. I FOUND THE PERFECT ONE!! This new one I found was listed online for a "negotiable" price, but she wanted to know my purpose for having him (snake food, etc) and once I told her he'd be a 4-h rabbit she was very accommodating!! Now.. just need a name for my new buck! I get him this weekend!

Well I know that they don't sit on them like a chicken!
And I know about wild rabbits drawing predators away, but she's in a pen with them so it's not like she can go far.
I don't think they have enough fur in with them or they need to be a smaller place to contain heat.
You can hear them crying for her. One got itself completely out of the nest this morning & was ice cold. I warmed her up the best I could & put her back in. All of the babies had kinda spread out & were chilly so I got them all back in their little pile.

I'm worried that they're going to get too cold, I'm wondering if they need to be moved in the house or the nest into a smaller space like a pet carrier with the door open so mom can come & go to keep them more contained/warmer. Is there a material I should add since it doesn't seem to be enough fur?

It was overnight lows in the 60s daytime in the 80s when they were born. Now it's getting below freezing over night so it was quite an unexpected temperature drop.
