HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think my does in prelabor!! i didn't breed her though. is it possible that one of the baby bucks got her preg????????????? there about 12-14 weeks old. her vagina is bleeding.

This is day 34 of my new zealand white doe being pregnant,I heard that if a doe only has 2-3 kits inside her it can take well over the 32 days because there the one's getting as much food as they can have and get real big in the doe so it will take longer for them to come out. And this is Sugar's first litter but I'm hoping she kindles soon!!!
Here's a picture of her and I can't wait to build the rabbit tractor(movable pen) so they can get outta the cage and be able to hop around and eat grass and be together in the little pen. But anyway this is day 34 for her,has anyone else had a doe that kindled late?

bunnies usually get be pregnant early 4 months... if you keep males and female bunnies together the males will have sex.
bunnies can become pregnant after 24 hrs of giving birth. around 21 days to have the kits(babies). I hope your bunny is okay.
you can check with your vet to check her out.

I haven't had new zealand white does, but rabbits can have a bunch of babies. mine had 5 babbies one was born dead.
I didn't know she was pregnant at the time. she russled her cage not stop one night. I finally let her out since it was wee hours of the am. she had her kits in the stuffing for pillows that I had. I didn't know she had them. the next day she was acting strange. running back and forth digging in the pillow batting.. I saw something dark near the top.. I thought it was a baby mouse.. then I realized it was a bunny (their ears are not long at this time) I brought it to her cage. she kept running back to get the others. so I helped her. there was one that was not there but near the area that was dead.. I showed it to her and the father bunny.

keep the father away from all the babies... they get territorial and can kill the babies. when they are older separate the bunnies. the female mom will try to mount on the daughters 3 months or so.. so I would remove them into separate cages at that time. all the babies can stay together with the mom bunny for a few months.

good luck.. I have raised bunnies since 1995. I currently have 3 bunnies.

Oh sternrose I hope your bunny is ok...such cute bunnies everyone is posting. Its Friday and everyone usually sleeps inuntil well after noon. Stores wont open until 4 at least. Most others in the early evening. We were late with dinner so I fidnt sleep until after 11pm. Woke up at 7 to find two hadnt gone to bed yet. Everyone sleeping but me. Got laundry done. More of my chicks have figured out how to fly up over the crates so ive just left it so they can wander around. Hoping I can get some materials to make an enclosure for them this next week.

A 10 year old rabbit. That's amazing.
I've had several bucks that lived that long; a couple that were at least 12 when they died. Because of issues with the reproductive organs, unaltered does tend not to live as long, though I have had several of them that lived to at least 8. Not many rabbits of either sex are fertile past the age of 5 or so, so that means a long "retirement" for a special rabbit.
