What about the lionhead gene is that dominant?
If I bred my lionhead buck to one of my NZW does would the babies have the poufy head?
I'm guessing they'd be smaller than the other NZ's too?
The gene that causes the Lionhead coat is dominant. Even rabbits that have only one copy of the mane gene will have manes, they just won't be as nice. Animals with two copies of the mane gene are referred to as "double maned," they have big, poofy manes and frequently longer hair on their sides as well. Animals that have one copy of the mane gene and one of the non-mane gene are called "single maned," they often have decent manes as babies but that tends to shed out as they get older. A lot of single maned animals wind up with just a few wisps of longer hair around their heads as adults.
If you breed a double-maned Lionhead to a non-maned rabbit, all of the resulting offspring will be single maned. If you breed a single-maned Lionhead to a non-maned rabbit, some of the babies will have single manes, and some will be non-maned.
@SternRose Otter is a Tan-patterned color. Tan-patterned rabbits have solid-colored body hairs like a Self, but light markings inside the ears, light color around the eyes and nostrils, under the jaw, light belly, and under the tail, like an Agouti.

Broken Black Otter
Broken refers to white being imposed in a particular way on an otherwise colored rabbit. Some Brokens have a lot of white, some only a little, but the basic pattern is of white on the feet and face, and the face marking really doesn't look like a "blaze." Brokens that have just a little bit of white are referred to as "booted," because they look like they are wearing white boots. The rabbit in this picture is about mid-way in the range of the amount of white on a broken; you can see some separation of the nose and eye color, and it has a fairly large, solid "blanket" of color on the body.
Broken Black
This rabbit is just about as far as a Broken can go without actually being a Charlie. A Charlie is a rabbit with two Broken genes. Typically, Charlies have colored ears, maybe a little color around the eyes just a tiny bit of color on the nose, and maybe a spot or two on the body.
A friend of my husband young daughter got this Lionhead at Easter. Now July she wants a puppy... I made the comment I was going to breeder over a hour away to get my daughter some for a project she is starting. He brought us this cutie. She is a single mane I think since she isn't as wooly as our double mane, but I do like the color.
Editing to add. After reading the above post I guess she is a double mane since she is older and still has a fuzzy mane.
Their coats are gorgeous!
I couldn't find any unique breeds of rabbits around here, only NZW's.
I looked for angoras for a long time.
Now I've just ended up with quite a few rescues no one wanted as pets anymore.
