I had 2 bucks that I had together since birth I separated them. Tried to breed them and it was a total no go . They were 8 mo. old They never became a dad so I did eventually make rabbit stew out of them . I think it had something to do with being raised with a another buck. They just had no interest in mating. After a week of the nonsense I just gave up trying with the two. Now I don't keep pairs in the same cage together.

Any chance your bucks were too fat? Overweight bucks are often not interested in breeding.

no I keep them pretty fit for breeding they were just stubborn
Sounds like the stew pot was the best place for them. Libido, and the lack thereof is hereditary. I don't see how raising two males together should make any difference. The fact that they got along so well might mean something though. In my experience, limited as it may be, two males often fight. A lot times you can keep two females together, but not males.

right now I am keeping our two females together. They are sisters and have been together their whole life. They went through a rough patch establishing dominance but worked through it and are great together now. I am concerned about keeping them together when I breed though. Does anyone have experience with this?

I have 4 Lionhead does together and have never seen them fight and I can't tell who us the dominant, but guess its the Blue Tort since she always drinks first. I'm fixing to pull her out of the hutch to breed. When I do she will stay out until she kits and they are weaned. I'm pretty new to rabbits, but this worked with my Netherland Dwarfs.

I have a fierce little doe that just found out this morning what happens when you attack another doe 3 times your weight and size.

i think she'll stay on her side of the divided hutch for now on.
