Hi there!

I raise lionhead rabbits in the usual colors and patterns, but in this latest litter I was surprised to find one that looks (to me at least) exactly like a chipmunk! He's a he, so I'm calling him 'Chip' until he's adopted by someone (unless I decide to keep him...lol !!!)
Here's a picture of him at four weeks old...see what you think...

oh my gosh he's adorable!!!

How do I tell the mother to this random litter? They were dead all over the garage floor.
There was 2 Blue Otters and 1Rew. I wish I could have known about them.
Sorry about your lost litter. Did the doe have them out there on the garage floor, or did they crawl out of a cage?

A doe usually has a slight, bloody discharge for about a day after kindling, so you can probably check her vent and tell.

If this is a colony set up and the buck is still there, I'm sure you'll mark your calender.

Finally picked up a digital kitchen scale so I can weigh my buns and kits. I've been worried that my does had gotten too chuncky with pregnancy, and the kids needed to chart the kits for their 4H project I checked the scale with a five pound weight to ensure accuracy, seems to be working well. I was actually surprised by the weights, I thought all of my buns were heavier than they are! These weights are all mini-rex buns.
Buck-3lbs 2 oz
Doe, recent kindle-4lbs 3 oz
Doe, 10 days pregnant-4lbs 6oz
So, size wise we are looking pretty good! We have our first fair of the season this week, but we didn't put anyone in this time b/c of babies. The Saturday after Thanksgiving we have an ARBA show, my son will show our buck since his doe is pregnant and will have recently kindled.. My daughter's doe will still have kits, but they will be almost six weeks old. Is it okay to show a bun that is still nursing? It is a day show, so she would be back with the buns by the evening. I'm sure our 4H leader knows, just thought I would ask you guys.
Our little kits are doing great, I have been so pleased with this first time mom. The babies are just opening their eyes and lifting their ears, so sweet! I'll update with some new pics when we bring them in to weigh them.

Your daughter's doe's flesh condition will probably suffer some since she's nursing, and her coat is bound to still be a bit ragged from fur pulling. I think these factors would probably put her out of contention, so do you really want to stress her by taking her to the show, just for the sake of having an entry? I think that is what most breeders would consider.

No, don't want to stress her just to do it. We were planning on just taking the buck, but was curious on other's experience. I was wondering how long the coat took to even back out, does she have to go through a molt? She doesn't look too bad, but def. not the plush, lovely coat we are used too! Thanks for the input.

Why do I keep getting re directed to mobpartner? This is the only website that this happens. I can't even read the post for it flopping around. It keeps wanting me to down load Zynga Poker.

The thing is I don't know who the mom is because 1 inside the cage 1 15feet away from the csge and 1 20feet away from the cage. Our 12week old roms the garage but the 1baby in the cage was with my doe who's had 3littets, I'm thinking its her litter because she plucked fur.
