What roof?

I'm in the process of building a walk in coop. I have the walls, buts the best roof. I'm thinking on putting a slant roof with plastic or metal roofing for a quick job.

you want a slanted roof.so that water will run off it.an snow wont collect on it so bad.a flat roof is bad news.an you want to to us tin for the roof.

I agree, if you're in NJ, your weather is much like ours. Lots of snow and wind! Make it strong, insulate and use metal vents. Check every crevice for drafts and especially for predator protection. And have fun...this is gonna take three times longer than you think! (And it's worth it).

The metal roofing is a bit cheaper, and will last a lot longer. I would insulate the roof the keep the heat down on either style though.

I'm leaning on the plastic roof at lowes. no cutting makes it simple and theres a gap for vents that I'll put up.

Do the bird nets on top provide any protection at all against predators or just keep the bird in mainly?
