Sorry if this was already done but I'm wondering what sells best for people in different areas, including meat/poultry sale as I know some people have a rough time selling eggs.

If you do not sell you could also answer these questions as what would you be likely to buy locally?

Feel free to clarify in the comments. I am also wondering if artisan goods are better to sell rather than the raw product, if you have experience let me know.

Go with brown chicken eggs. I have come across quite a few dumb people out there that think brown eggs are healthier than white eggs and will pay more. They think white are factory farmed and brown are free range. I’m not sure how they think that works on a scientific level, but hey if someone doesn’t want to use their brain and pay more that’s better for you.

I think a lot of people in New England at least, think “brown eggs are local eggs and local eggs are fresh” I can kind of understand it, as mainly factory farms or further away places use white egg laying birds, but brown eggs can be that way too so

I live in Iowa where there are a lot of commercial poultry farms and they all have pretty much jumped on the brown egg train craze. I see a lot of “cage fee” brown eggs in the box chain grocery stores and of course that just means all crammed in a big barn just with no cages. People will buy them though and technically these guys are cage free🤷‍♀️

As horrible as that is, that looks way better than being shoved into those tiny individual cages. At least they can walk. I can just imagine the pecking order squabbles that would happen though.

There's a lady in my office that says she'll only eat white eggs because they're "cleaner." I didn't know how to respond so I just said "oh" and walked away.
