Tried to get some better pictures. They are still pretty shy, but meeting the rest of the flock last night helped, I think. This gives an idea of their size compared to my Pekins and chickens. My drake is a fatty. The muscovies are about the size of the hen Pekin.

The one with the white head sounds like my drake. But body is short like females that was what I call huffing. Let’s see if we can get @learycow and @oldhenlikesdogs here for their guess.

I would rather others that keep Muscovy say too. But my drake huffs my females trill. Is you Pekin a Jumbo he looks huge. Don’t you love Muscovy the are just the neatest ducks!

Rather than starting a new thread I thought I'd post here and see if anyone can tell me the sex of my new Muscovy's. I don't know their ages but they are the same size. Any thoughts on age/gender?

Is the right one a lavender? I spoke to a woman about different Muscovys and she had chocolate and I think lavender?

Both birds are the same age but one seems to have got its red features alot quicker. What sex are they please.

The near one is a male. The far one’s image depth is deceiving, but the eye flesh screams male too.Tis the season to breed (now) so if the start the precursor fighting for females (assuming you have other birds) you can watch and seen now or very soon.
