Chick #1: PB Blue Copper Marans hen x Silver Laced Polish-EE roo. 5 weeks old today.








Chick #2 (left): PB Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben hen x SL Polish-EE roo. Chick #3 (right) : SL Polish-roo x either Red Rock or Ameraucana hen. Both 5 wks old today.






Chick #4: Lavender Orpington-Cochin Frizzle hen x Barnevelder-SL Wyandotte roo 3.5 weeks old

Still a bit too young. Chick #1 and chick #3 look a bit like they could be cockerels. Try again in another couple of weeks.

All cockerels because I kept the most interesting ones In the past 5 yrs I've been lucky and mostly had 1:3 (cockerelullet ratio) and once 1:2.5

This year lots of cockerels. I sold 10 chicks to a friend and 7 are cockerels. I kept 9, and 5 are cockerels. Beautiful, interesting looking birds but I already have a roo.

I did end up with 2 beautiful frizzles - one a buff orpington x and she is almost a silver colour and one a polish-EE x lavender orpington frizzle and she's black with cream highlights.
