Hi everyone.. Ooh La La, The brown in the middle does look like a roo.. This breed to me is harder to tell the hens from the roo's. The picture posted above I ended up with 2 hens, the lighter brown on the left top of the feeder and the darker just left of the feeder.. I was told if they are back and white, they are sure to be a roo. I held on to mine till they started to crow. It did not take long.. they hatched the first week in September 2012 and they started in December 2nd 2012... Was an unwanted birthday present to wake up too.. Lol!
I just hatched 4 eggs of the EE's and looking at them now I believe I have only 1 hen looking at the tail feathers since on the hens they develop faster then the roos. The Black Australorps are much easier to tell the boys from the girls in my experience..
