I have one buff brahma bantam rooster with my 18 mixed hens. On some of them, there is a tiny bald spot where he grabs them. I hate that look, would trimming down his beak a little, make that better? Any ideas?
I also have a hen who has a bald spot over her crop. Her crop is always very big. The bald spot has been there since this summer. She did have mites in December but they are all gone now. Any idea why the feathers are not coming in? Will it be better after she molts?
Thankyou!
I'll post some pictures when I get home.

I'm not sure if trimming the beak would help. Being that he's a bantam he needs to hold on more when mating. Removing him is the only way to stop it. They will probably start losing back feathers too before next fall.

Could be your hen is rubbing her chest feathers off sitting in the nestboxes.

Would getting a large rooster be better? Would he hurt the bantam hens?
I personally wouldn't have a standard rooster with bantams. You could try a different rooster. I have a few bantam cochins with my standards and they don't pull out feathers.
