What should i do?

3 days ago mom decided to spend more time with her babies (the weather was nice that day, but the eggs turned a little cold, so i put them in the incubator for a few hours).

When mom returned to her nest (together with her babies) i put the eggs back (she immediately tucked them in.
I did the same the following days, but today i saw one of them started hatching.
Because i knew mom would spend time with her 2 babies, i put it in the incubator together with the other 2 eggs (which haven’t pipped int yet).
When i came home from work the little one had already hatched!
To be honest, i did of what i think was the right thing to do (incubator) because the weather isn’t that nice (windy and rainy) and mom did spend all day with her 2 babies.

So now i’m thinking, should i put the baby and the 2 eggs back with mom when it gets dark?
I don’t know what she would do if she doesn’t ‘want’ the newborn..would she harm her?

I would stop trying to get her to sit on the eggs and finish hatching them in the incubator. If you decide to give them to your broody, sneaking them under her in the middle of the night is usually the best approach to prevent her from rejecting the new babies but whether or not she accepts them is very dependant on your hen.

Thank you so much for replying so quickly!
Well, we don’t have ‘the sisters’ for very long, but i do notice how committed she is since she started brooding, she is very very protective when it comes to either her (big) sister or her babies.
Also when i put back her eggs the other days, she seemed so happy (but maybe that’s what all broody’s do?) and quickly put them back beneath her.

You know this is my first time with a broody hen, i think if the weather was better, i wouldn’t even think of putting them in the incubator, but it was too cold to leave them laying there without mom keeping them warm..

I guess it’s up to me now, i have to follow my gut feeling(?) again.
I even thought of putting mom and her babies inside (dog bench)so she could stay with them all day.

It’s now 9:15pm, i’m gonna wait at least until midnight.

Last night i put the little one under mommy, and up till now it looks like she does accept her..and her sisters(?) also!
They walked around, scratched and learned from mommy in the little coop.
The weather was very nice today, so they also did a little walk together outside the coop.
It goes well, although, i notice the age difference between the little ones (4 days) but it looks like they help eachother, and mom too!

There’s only one egg left now, it’s in the incubator.
This afternoon i checked it and there’s an internal pip!
I hope i can put it back under mommy so it will hatch with her..
To be continued..
