what should I feed??

I usually get whatever laying pellets are cheapest and while not laying birds don't need layer pellets mine get them once they are big enough to stay in the big coop. No ill effects so far. Purina makes flock raiser, it comes in a green bag with a picture of turkeys. I only use that when I have turkeys though so...you can use it with just chickens though. It really is up to you.
And no them eating crushed egg shells doesn't make them mess with their eggs. I don't think they realize the specks in the compost pile are the same as the covering on those things that come out of their Butts... like I said I don't use oyster shell, but a lot of people do. Another preference depending on where you live. My chickens get calcium out of the ground because I live in the mountains and we have no shortage of minerals around here... it isn't called chalk mountain for nothing. Lol. Anyway just grab you a bag of either chick starter or laying pellets. Either one will do you. If the chick's are really small then give everyone the chick starter, if the chick's are fully feathered I just give them all laying pellets even though at that age they don't need them. Again some people believe the excess calcium will build up over time and cause kidney issues but to those people I ask what they feed their roosters.

Ok thanks my chicks are 10 weeks old and feathers so I can use flock raiser now right!! thanks for your help!!
