What should I know about parakeets?

Also, I had a thought...could they have playtime outside in my chicken run? It's covered with hardware cloth. Any harm to the chickens or parakeets?

One more thing ...I am fostering these babies....would you say that four in that cage is too many?

Due to diseases chickens carry i would not put them in there as they can also hard them to. I personally feel half inch is to big of a spacing

We have a tall cage for finches which is 1/2". We've had finches and canaries in that, so surely a parakeet would be okay. At least provided they were full-grown.

We have two macaw cages, one for each, and those certainly are too big lol.

Thank you all. They won't be hanging with the chickens...the cage is ordered. Now the fun part...toys!
They're full grown! I have a feeling even though they are fosters, they'll be a long term stay. I have a houseful of fosters now!

I’ve never had a tame parakeet, no matter how much we tried to be friends. They have all been very skittish. But I’ve heard it can be done, so I wish you the best!
