Bar spacing might be to wide and they can squeeze through the bars. This would be the cage.....
I keep males and females together and haven't had an egg in about 5 years.A male female pair will do nothing but breed lol I breed them.
It has to do with hours of light otherwise they are known to lay clutch after clutchI keep males and females together and haven't had an egg in about 5 years.
I think there's actually lots of factors that play into it. Mine do not have a "bedtime" like lots of other bird owners have for their birds. They get as many hours of daylight as there is, all year round. I don't cover them or anything either. The spacing is a half inch. Is that not ok?Bar spacing might be to wide and they can squeeze through the bars.
Also, I had a thought...could they have playtime outside in my chicken run? It's covered with hardware cloth. Any harm to the chickens or parakeets? The spacing is a half inch. Is that not ok?
