I have a dozen Serama eggs that I'm getting ready to hatch and I've heard so many conflicting things about he humidity percentage. I live in Memphis so its usually pretty humid and that does affect my incubators humidity levels. Im worried about the humidity getting too high. What has worked best for you when you hatch?

35-45% is where I keep mine at until lockdown then I increase it to 60-75% and it’s worked well for me.

Sometimes I notice it drops to 20-25% but I just add more water and it’s fine.

Everyone is different, you just have to find what works for you. I personally like to keep my humidity between 45-55% during incubation and between 65-75% (preferring 75%) at hatching stage. This is what has been working for me, as I find chicks have a much harder time hatching if I keep humidity lower.

I think a general rule of thumb would be 35-55% from days 1-Lockdown, and then during lockdown anywhere from 60-75%.

Play within those numbers and you’ll eventually find the sweet spot that works for your location, your incubator, and your eggs!
