What Should You Have Been?

Good news - it's not too late to fulfill your ambition. I, on the other hand, am unlikely to meet a deaf-mute orphan supermodel with sufficiently poor judgement about men...

Well for now it may be too late. I have a husband and two kids. I know for a fact that my hubby would not want to live that same life style. I can't blame him because everyone has a different way of life. Put it this way. If I knew what I knew back then.....

I am much more aware of the "world" as I grow older.

A nurse, but then I started having kids.

Maybe someday! As for now, I will settle with being a full-time homeschooling mommy.

Well, Gumpsgirl, I am a nurse. But, oh, how I'd have loved to have been a full-time homeschooling mom! Enjoy it as long as you can...nursing will still be there when your kids are done with school. Good to have dreams and goals!

I am what I am to be.....A daughter, A sister, A wife, A mother, A friend, & a child of God. There is nothing else that I would want to be.

But about 15 years ago, I did go to college and sstudy to be a Paralegal.

Congratulations! I do realize that the education will always be there waiting for me!

Meanwhile, I will just re-learn the names of the president's, how to do algebra, how to make volcanoes, why the earth rotates, go crazy over those creepy-crawlies that always seem to make it into my house, etc..., etc...

I should have been ... born sufficiently wealthy to do more than dabble in my hobbies.

Actually I was on the road to being an English or History Prof until I got derailed by marriage and kids and chickens etc.

I went back to college when I was 30 so it is never too late! But to be honest - the homeschooling mommy part has been the most rewarding thing I've ever done.

BUT - I NEVER in million years thought I'd be the person I am now - what I should have been is:

A Jockey.

I was such a horse racing nut when I was a kid plus I never got over 5 feet tall...I wouldn't be cought dead on a racing thoroughbred now - that would scare the sh*t out of me.

I was a pre-vet major until I hit organic chemistry. Got frustrated and joined the Marines. I still remember my first day doing pushups with a shaved head, thinking over and over "Organic wasn't that bad..."

Eventually ended up with a history major and almost enough English and anthropology credits for a triple major. Odd combination for an odd guy.

The secret to passing organic chemistry is...pretending you understand and showing up to every class even if you decide to sleep!

I rememeber taking my O chem final and there were just pages and pages of these stupid reactions...On EVERY single reaction I lost a hydrogen and made water my product. EVERY single one! I made the whole thing up.

LOL...I got a C....for showing up. I couldn't even tell you a reaction right now and I have a masters in toxicology!
