What snacks DON'T or chickens like???

My chucks turned their beaks up to meal worms ... dried and live. They were both expensive and I thought they would love them. They didn't like them at all. One was even a little scared of the live ones. They won't touch worms from the garden either.

Wow I'm really surprised. Mine love the dried ones but not the alive ones and worms. They liked worms until I gave them crickets and now when they see worms they look at me and would probably say " really, what are you thinking".

I know this isn't really a snack, but I've heard that chickens will eat black widows. My rooster killed one, but he didn't eat it. I have seen my hens eat some smaller young black widows, but I've never seen them or the roos eat an adult black widow... they just peck them to death and go on their way.

Mine like pancakes but they are not too keen on bread for some reason. Their special fav is fresh cold grapes. Yum!

I wish mine didn't like bread. I heard it weakens their shells. My husband threw some bread out to the dogs and my chickens got into it. I don't know if it is the cause or not, but I did have some papery shells for a few weeks. I put extra oyster shell in their coop and make sure they always have a good supply of it. Their favorite treat is watermelon.

Mine LOVE black widows. They used 2 be everywhere on our farm, until I got chickens. They will follow me around until I flip rocks so they can eat the widows!!!

its quite hot today around 37 I think but I have just given our girls some nice cold watermelon thinking they would love it.... they had a few pecks and have now left it for the ants.. talk about fussy

My chickens avoid applesauce like it's the plague! However, their favorite snack is any bread product.

Black widows?! *shudder* I've glad I live in Iowa where the worst thing is a wolf spider.
