What space for 8 week old chickens

What is the space needed for 8 week old pullets? We are getting a hefty amount of chicks in june, so I need to start building plans. The building will be confined, and have great ventilation due to our hot/humid weather in South Texas.

I'm not quite sure I'm understanding the question. Are you talking about a juvi brooder situation or about moving them up to a coop and run where they will stay permanently? For a juvi brooder, most advice I've seen calls for 2 sq ft per bird. For a coop and run, the norm is 4 sq feet (coop) and 10 sq ft (run) per bird. If you're building a commercial type building that's a coop and run combined, I'm really not sure what you need, but I'd use the run estimate of 10 sq ft per bird as a minimum allowance.
