I listen to a lot of music still. just not top 40 pop garbage.
Me too. I usually listen to either country (preferably on the Rock side) or heavy metal. Singing along with so much metal/rock has given me a really low voice for a female, I'm contralto. Which reminds me of a story (oops.... Am I getting THAT old? 😂) A few months ago one of my friends was riding with me to a festival in town. I had the radio on like usual, switching between stations to find something worth listening to. As I scan past a newer song (pop-y style, yuck) my friend started singing along, so I let the song finish. Once she was done, I kept scanning until I found a good rock station, and Metallica "Enter Sandman" was playing, so of course I started singing along. By the time I got to

🎶 dreams of war, dreams of liars, dreams of dragon's fire 🎶

I noticed my friend staring at me like, "How are you doing that? Your voice shouldn't be able to go that deep." It was funny. 🤣

My children stare at me like that when I'm bouncing back and forth between Serj and Darin on BYOB or Geoff Tate on anything from Empire. I'm a tenor, and I still have most of my range. I do have to chase Geoff in falsetto though. I never had HIS range.
