What supplies do you keep in/ near your coop?

I'd like to build a bigger coop so that I can have a
small "closet" to hold all my supplies, but a) I'm not sure if I can convince my husband, and b) I'm not even
sure what would go into the supply closet ( can you tell I'm new at this?)
I'm thinking excess food, a scoop for the run (sand), a bag of DE, a scraper for the poop board, maybe the
bag of excess bedding stuff (wood pellets).
So what else should be near the coop for convenience sake? I figure if I get a good list,
I could persuade my husband that I "need" the extra room...

I have 2 metal trash cans on the outside of my coop which has my feed in them.I put a bungee cord from handle to handle to secure the lid .

How is he about helping a 'damsel in distress?' That's the trick I always used & for the most part it worked like a charm! I would start to 'build' something on my own & dh would ask what I was doing. I would tell him that I was just building/adding on, etc. I would further explain that I didn't want to bother him with it because I knew he was busy/tired from working, etc., and I thought it was something simple that I could manage myself. Naturally, he would ask more questions & make suggestions until it got to the point where he just jumped right in & took over.
Shameless? HECK YEAH, but if you can't use your feminine wiles and the helpless female bit on your own dh and get away with it, who can you use it on?!

hello.
i use 4 rubbermaid black garbage cans with lids.
they hold up very well outside///rain and snow.
one has hay.
feed.
pine shavings.
and poop!!!!

I have a large deck storage box in my coop that I used to put a bale of hay in when I had horses. My chicken coop is a Noble Horse Shelter 12' x 12' event front that I put hardware cloth over.

In my storage box, I have bag of Stall Dry (every other day, I sprinkle a cup under the roost to keep deep litter stink free).
Bag of shavings to refill nest boxes.
Heat Lamp w/red bulb I plug in and place over the waterer if it freezes.
Clean towel for drying hands
Roll of paper towels in case of poo splatters or runny nose
Baby waterer and feeder for the broodies with little ones.
ZipTies, Screws, Nails
Flashlight

Kitty litter scoop is hanging on a nail above a bucket with lid
2nd flashlight hanging on nail
Towel hanging on nail
Thermometer hanging on wall

-oxine spray bottle
-sulmet
-DE
-putty knife ( for scraping)
-rake, shovel


shavings, bags of feed, extra feeders and waterers in case Im lucky and find another broody

I have 3 metal trash cans (would love a shedded area like you are talking about!)..

I have pine shavings in one, feed and scratch in the other, and more diff feed for younger chicks and scoops and other supplies in the 3rd.. I should put my dusting powder in there, pine tar (for the pecking)..

I'm new to this too and my husband would gasp if he saw the trouble I've been making (buliding on my own and I am learning as I go!

Most men would step in and take over.. even my father over the phone is having fits hearing how much I'm making a mess of it. tee hee.

I have 5 garbage cans with lids in my feed room. I also have shelves for my essentials.

newspaper for my brooder pens
ivermectin
nu-stock
fungicide
tetracycline
nfz puffer
scissors
sharp knife
I'd have to go out to see what else besides horse grooming & foot trimming supplies.

Oxine (or ACV when I am done with the oxine)
Sponge and scrubby
scraper and cat litter scoop for the poop boards
bucket for poop
Extra light bulbs
Broom
Rake
bread box (to keep the bread fresh for them

)
Screwdriver
screws
stapler (not a paper one)
extra waterers and feeders (any chick feeders & waterers when I am not using them)


and my DH says I keep to much in there, lol. OH not to mention the food in one garbage can, corn in another and shavings in another can. I had my DH separate a section of the coop just for me and my stuff when we built it so I didn't have to clutter up his garage and walk the food to the coop every morning.
