what temp do you like to keep your coop at?

Although it's not recommend in many cases, for me the pros of heat outweigh the negatives, so my coop never drops below 37°F...

Hello all my chicken heads!
whats a good temp to keep my coop at right now? what temp do you run the coop at in winter?

I would do what you feel comfortable with; keeping in mind how some people provide for their chickens. I feed extra corn to help my birds combat the cold. Works for me with my 65 trips around the sun.

There are special circumstances that heating a coop could be beneficial.

There is a lot of information on these circumstances, and the proper way of doing so in a safe and efficient manner.

All seem to agree tho that keeping your flock dry is much more important, to avoid respiratory and frostbite issues.

As to answering your question, I personally have cold hardy breeds, and keep my flock comfortable in a well ventilated draft free coop, where temperatures and humidity are equal, inside and out.
