What the Cluck!

My RIR's too are 4 months old and cluck now. I get bock bock and motor boat sounds out of them.

My girls went through a voice change around 3 1/2 to 4 months....which was a month ago. They all have adult hen voices now and starting to lay eggs. So exciting! They become very vocal when getting ready to lay! Good Luck!

great timing! was out to catch an audio of our roo and I took some of the gang as they marched around. They are for sure still peeping at 8 wks or so, and I was wondering when they'd move to more adult sounds...

Thanks for the info. It's comforting to know that the girls are normal. I'm sure I'll miss the peeping when it's gone!

I just noticed today that one of my 11 week old Rhode Island Red girls, who always peeps when it's roost time, was honking, LOL! I'd forgotten when their voices change till now and I remember my original girls honking, then they started the Big Girl cluck about 14 weeks old.
