Fertilized eggs are not possible without a rooster in the flock and fertlized eggs don't look any different from unfertlized, on the outside. Inside you have to look real close and know what you are looking for.
No Shell
This is an egg that has no shell, just the membrane. It can be caused by several different things, such as a lack of calcium in the diet, although this should not be a problem if they are on a commercial style layers ration with not too many treats, or it can be caused by shock. They are usually just a one off, in which case the problem can be put down to shock. If, however, it is a persistent problem, then diet is a more likely cause.

Could this be it?? it was there a bit and your tip dried out?

It's not a shelless egg. The inside looks like flesh. It looks indeed to be an ovary or some kind of organ. I don't know enough about ovary loss to know if she will still lay or not. Speckledhen may know more about it.
newbie here.. but I just did a necropsy on an eggbound chicken.. and I think I've seen this in pictures in the past somewhere.. it looks like a fart egg that sat in the membrance shop to get layers of layers of membrane on it.. then the hen eventually expelled the nasty mass.. jmo though.. It definitly NOT an ovary.. again jmo
the mass on the right is the ovary with the yolk sacs already removed
of course the mass on the left would be where I found my egg bounds shelled egg.. So not right.. looks like some sort of tumor.
