What the HECK is THIS?!?!

Ive seen about everything, but I found this today. It stinks too, and is soft and spongy.

All my girls are pullets and are about ready to lay in about 3-4 weeks Im hoping.

Its about 3 inches long.

I used to get them in central Florida.... We think they are a fungas of some type.. They would pop up a day after a lot of rain.

Ewwww....we havent had a lot of rain but we have had a lot of fog, this is the first year in 6 years living here we have ever had mushrooms of all types growing.

GROSS!...I hope that is all it is!!

Lantern Fungi, Lysurus mokusin
It is this type of fungi. They smell so so so bad.. And they will get a nasty snoty green stuff on some of them that are horrible.
