(When I was a kid, I used to walk by my younger sister and whisper "I'm the favorite" to which she would respond "But I'm cuter!" Evil children that we were...)

I believe the powers-that-be are not happy with the human race...
hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes--too many, too close together; scary, isn't it?

It is the moderation thing. It's like that filter is gone. We get one extreme or the other. Last winter was below freezing for most of the winter. I hauled hot water out to the coops every morning for months. We got more snow that we have had in a long time and it was just genereally miserable. This summer went straight to the high 90s with humidity off the charts early in June. Usually it is August when that happens. We haven't had rain in forever, but it is so humid that the grass is soggy in the mornings when I go out to let everyone out. Now we are going from 90 to 68 overnight. Enough already!! I need some consistancy!

Don't get me wrong- I'm pretty pleased that we are going to get some decent temperatures finally. It's just that overnight shift is a bit much. I have babies out in the coops who are going to freeze their tail feathers off.

Welcome to climate change people. You never know just what you are going to get. Some claim predicting weather is a science but from what I have seen, old Ed at the corner gas station with his knees is sometimes more accurate the the weather people.

Texas is in the worst drought in 100 years. We have had 2 months of 100 degree plus heat. The tropical/hurricane storm shaking things up in Louisana right now is at least sending us cooling wind, but NO RAIN.

Maybe Mother Nature has reached menopause and is having hot flashes. Actually it is El Nino screwing up the weather.

i have heard it hasn't gone above 89 in Seattle this year, which is uncommon. usually climbs over 90 for a few days in the summer.
