What the heck is wrong with the weather these days?

Thankfully, we've had rain. It has been very hot the past 3 days. Yesterday it was at 90. Today is in the 80s and muggy! Tomorrow in the low 70s and Monday 65. It is crazy!

That's what I keep saying. God is really made at us

You know you're in trouble when God has a Come to Jesus meeting.

Amen...

Well apparently "God" is only mad at, umm, the world that isn't the Pacific Northwest.

What I find so interesting is that through these past couple years of crazy weather, including floods, heat, freezing, etc for everyone else - We've been pretty normal. No heatwaves, no serious floods (which are actually quite normal for us) slightly milder winters than normal, and the summers have actually been pretty nice and sunny, which is unusual. Certainly not hot, but sunny.

I'm over 200 miles west of them, pretty sure the cloud will blow east, too.

The only thing I'm in worry of and already am aware of is Fukushima Dalichi.

I think that the weather has always had extremes, but the fact of the Internet has made it easier to learn about extremes in other places. All of the sudden, it seems like everywhere is being hit by tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts, etc. etc. etc. Our brains hear the same weather story rehashed about 100 different ways, and subconsciously we perceive it like we're hearing about 100 different, unique weather events, so it seems like there is more going on than there really is.

The recent cool down here in Michigan is due to a front moving through...a rather typical weather phenomenon.

Meteorologists study weather history and look at "analog years" (years in the past where the weather followed a similar pattern) to aid in predicting what will happen next. I imagine that weather history would give some good clues as to why droughts, etc., are happening in certain places.

Don't forget The Weather Channel--they have a ratings interest in promoting bad weather.
