Got a call from a friend that told me there was a rooster n her hen house this morning. She never wanted one and has no idea where it came from. She has about 30 RIR and EE hens.
Any Idea what this guy might be?

This may be a light brown bantam leghorn. The color is a bit light in spots, but looks pretty close. I think he has white earlobes?

OOPs maybe not a bantam but still a light brown leghorn. If the earlobes are not white then I would guess a welsummer.

It is the same size has the full grown EE it is next to, Super long tail and i think it was red earlobes. Does not seem agressive. The han house door was latched shut so some one put in in there. She is close to a main Road.

Then somewhat looks like a welsummer, but not quite. So many other breeds can be wild type colored/partridge.

I guess he is happy, Any idea how longbefore the eggs are fertle? If he has Welsummer in him i love to hatch a few of those EE eggs! I bet they would be pretty. She says as long as he does not chase her kids on cats he can stay. He might make a good hawk watcher.
