What time in the morning do you let your chickens out of the coop?

Ok all... One more thing! I've heard mixed reviews on this... Leave the feeder in the coop or take it out in the morning and stick it back in at night? The have about two acres to free range during the day!

I get up, drink a cup of coffee and go let the chickens out and check on water and feed for all the animals.

about 7am we lwt the girls out. I would just leave the food and water in the coop. You can place different water stations in the yard for them too. I too have coffee with the chickens in the morning. we sit and watch them and talk to them it's cool.

I leave the feeder in the coop for only a limited time, about an hour in the morning and three hours in the evening. And they usually free range for about two hours or so. Also, give them some yogurt every evening before bed.

Our chickens free range but we do close the coop at night to help discourage predators. This time of year they are up early (just before dawn) so we let them out at that time. We do plan on putting in a "chicken door" that is on a timer, which will likely be easier on us all.

I would love to have an automatic door to our coop. The girls are good about getting in on their own every night, but I still have to go out and close it before I go to bed and open it first thing in the morning.
