Right now she is laying in the house. Does not look like she bled much. She has stopped bleeding. The cut is about 2 1/2 inches long and in a couple of places looks like 1/8 inch deep. She is not bothering it. Should I try to clean it with peroxide ? She is eating and took a drink of water. She looked a little tramatized when I went in the cage this morning, but is looking a little more normal now. Should I be afraid of infection ?
Thanks

Never use peroxide. It damages healthy cells.

You can use saline or simple soap and water. Cleanse the wound. Apply some neosporin. I would advise keeping her inside in a dark quiet place for a few days. Watch for infection and let start to scab over before returning her to the flock. This time of year you are opening yourself up to fly strike and may find her wound full of maggots. Better to be safe than sorry.

This time of year I'd worry about maggots. If you can put her somewhere inside where the flies won't bother her as much it would be good. Try and keep it clean and dry. Keep a close eye on it. Doesn't take much time at all before a wound can be full of maggots.

What I do is spray the wound with blue kote, it sanitizes it while it seals it too! Also, you need to trim your roosters spurs. You can see how to do this HERE . Good luck!

Thank You for all the help. I do have her in the house. She is only eating a little this morning. Should I be worried about this ? Should she get an oral antibiotic or only place it on her wounds? Do they sell Blue Kote in a feed store ?
Thanks Again for the help

Hi
She is still in the house. Cuts look like they are healing fine. Now she is barely eating. She is drinking some water. She laid an egg on Mon 7/7, on Tuesday I checked on her and there was a yolk laying on the ground and she was eating it. I cleaned the cage and came back after throwing the paper away and she had white stuff coming out her vent. It looked like a soft shell. Yesterday she laid no egg. The last 3 days she has been eating a little bit and is going to the bathroom. The poo looked a little runny. Today she had a dark green poo. She will not even look at the treats this morning and she went to her food container and pecked a couple of times. It is also hot here 95 +. Although she is in a house at about 80 degrees. Could she still have some of the egg in her or be eggbound ? Or could the trama of being hurt affected her ? Please help.
