What to do in Tampa for a month?

Gator land...she would like that. I'll have to tell her about it. What's Wikki Watchie? NM I'll Google that

I'll show her Lowry Park too. Larry will be more likely to have her golfing

Heres Weeki Wachee

That is pretty cool redhen. I think I will have her take a look at this site too. THANK YOU!

Is there a possibility she may enjoy herself?

Sometimes it's nice to try something different when you know it is just temporary. Be sure to let her form her own opinions and change your attitude towards how exciting, new and different this will be for her.

The Museum of Science and Industry is cool for a kid, and it's in Tampa. There is also an IMAX theater there... here is the website.

There are also a number of "You pick" farms open, as well as state parks. Lowry Park, Busch Gardens, and Weeki Wachee are all good standbys as well.

I have said nothing to her about how I feel about it. I just want her to have fun. Did ya miss that part or what?

Her other grandparents dragged her all over the west to museums for 3 weeks of the summer for the past few years. LOL! She says "anything but a museum!" The IMAX is a good idea though!!

Busch Gardens is killer fun!!! We have 2 year passes and we go tons! Right next door is adventure island, also lots of fun.
MOSI (museum of Science and Industry) is really so much fun, and a lot cheaper.
Right down the road from me is Wild Bill's airboats, also fun.
Homosassa Attraction is so much fun and very cheap. Real florida at its best.
I have a feeling that they are not "water people"? Too bad, because up round here, my neck of the woods, is King's bay, manatee play land, and you can snorkel and pet them, as long as you don't molest

When is she coming, june or july will have to read back, but right not to far up the river is a place to go scalloping by boat, they have tours all the time. Scallops are in about 4 ft of water, and so much fun to go after, its addicting. Its like a treasure hunt.
Weeki Watchee is nice to it is the home of the "mermaids" mermaid shows and such, and buccaneer bay is attached.
if she just wants to look around Ybor is nice during the day, not appropriate for kids at night.
Of course not far from tampa is disney, little closer then Universal (which in my opinion blows)
So there is tons of stuff to do. Lots of fun.
I have lived here all my life, and would not choose to live anywhere else, except maybe the Keys, where I plan to be a snowbird at when I'm old.

I don't know if she went to MOSI, but its all interactive. Its like a kids museaum. They have all these places where they can do giant fun experiments, they can experience tornados, fires, being a human slingshot, and how the human body works. it has a whole place just to do experiments that are like play land stuff, and a butterfly thing, where you go to with thousands of live butterflies. Oh and Imax is there.

I was gonna suggest MOSI-it is fun! But I really LOVE Adventure Island-it is the water park that is owned and run by Busch Gardens. Allot of the locals get a monday-friday pass that is cheaper than the others.

the springs are really cool to go to and there are many! The mermaids are something to see.............

Cypress gardens is closed. It is down the street from me, we are 45 mins east of tampa
We also have Bok Tower which is cool and has beautiful gardens.

Wet & Wild , gatorland, disney, sea world are about 1 & 1/2 hours east of Tampa

Tampa has Busch Gardens, Mosi museum( sooo cool, had Imax theatre there), Aquarium is awesome!! baywalk is nice but weekends & nightime get ghetto!! there is a tour that goes on land then in the water, kids love that!!! The Tampa Bays play and on the weekends they have concerts. GO HANK BLALOCK!!! he's our cousin and is DH for the Rays.

St.Pete beach is 20 mins south of there, Ft. Desto is free and the beach is #1 in nation for several years

Drive a little ways down south to Anna Maria island( shark teeth are always on the beach and lots of sand dollars)

TECO electric has a free park and all the manatee's swim there. Really cool to see them upclose and in a natural setting.
