What to do while on vacation

i hatched my first ever duckling in my incubator but we are going on vacation and he still needs a heat lamp. I have 3 female ducks and 1 female goose that might adopt him but how would I encourage them. Also there is no way to have electricity at our pen where he will be staying. Any advice will be appreciated.

Can you find a pet sitter for him? If not, contact an avian vet and see if they can help.

No family member or friend who can duckling sit ? Ducks unless broody will acccept duckling and they have to hatch them. Geese can adopt ducklings but it’s not that you can take the duckling out there and she just takes it under her wing youll need to introduce slowly over several days to see if she’ll take it. Would really be best to get a sitter

We will try to find a sitter for him. We have one week before we leave. Will that be enough time to try the goose adopting him.
