Hi, first time in this site.
I bought straight run chicks (Wyandotte and Buff Orpington bantams) a few months ago and it is becoming apparent now which are males. In my area (Fayetteville AR) I am not allowed to have roosters, so I need to get rid of these guys pretty soon. I could cull them I suppose but that seems like sort of a waste, especially since I really like one of them for their "personality" (would really like to at least find a home for him where he won't get eaten!).
I have never had bantams before- will they get big enough to bother eating?
As to rehoming I have tried giving them away on craigslist but so far no luck (have at least 1 Columbian wyandotte cockerel and 1-2 (unsure of the second) red laced blue wyandotte cockerel.
So what do you usually do with your extra roosters when raising bantam chicks?
