I'm new to chickens. There is a small amount of fines in each bag of food. The chickens aren't eating it, but is there something I can do with it to feed it to them, or should they just be thrown away?

Thank you for your reply!! I was hoping that a person could do something to not waste them.
We feed crumbles and there seems to be a lot of fine powder in each bag.
Chickens think they're getting a treat without giving too much non-feed related treats.
Less waste. Less non-feed related treats. A win win.

We save them in a bucket. Add some warm water to turn it into a mash. (like oatmeal). Chickens love it. Think it's a treat. No waste that way.
This, exactly! It works very well. One side benefit: the chickens get some extra liquid in their diet. That can be critical in hot weather. It's also an easy way to get them electrolytes: just sprinkle the electrolyte powder over the fines and mix in the water. In extreme temps, hot or cold, electrolytes can help.
