What to do with rooster?

My bantam barred rock roo is the absolute sweetest rooster ever! He makes little cooing noises whenever he finds a yummy treat and lets the girls take it from his beak. Every time one of the girls starts to make the I need to lay an egg noise, he runs to the nest and arranges it nicely for her, then waits for her to finish laying before he leaves. I absolutely adore him!

It's really nice to hear about all the sweet little roos. I ordered a bunch of bantams and you almost always have to order them st run so I was getting worried about getting a bunch of roos. Still a little worried about how many roos are going to pop up in a batch of 25 and what kind of personalities they're going to have... but it's really nice to hear about positive experiences!

Keeping him alone my make him meaner. If you are raising just for eggs to eat don't get a rooster, they may even hurt production.
For me I like having a rooster, there is no better protector for your flock.A good rooster will put himself between danger and his hens every time.If I only wanted a few hens I wouldn't bother, but if you want a dozen or so get a roosterThere is no better babysitter.
If you are worried about being mean towards you,try to spend alot of time with him and handle him alot.Reach under him never over.If he turns into a manfighter chop his head off and get another.I think treatment and bad genes play a big part of a mean rooster.
Feathers missing on their backs mean too few hens or could be his favorite picks. will

A heavy grit emery board, or the like, applied to Mr. Cockerel's developing spurs reduces the damage (spurs can also slash the flanks of pullets). Just round `em off and let `em run. However, this won't do a thing for head/neck feather plucking
