what to do with skunk after you catch it

thanks every one. but I'm not sure if theres another getting in so when we went out and shot the skunk I forgot to get the eggs cuz we were busy with the skunk I'm not sure how many was in there but I know there had to be at least one but this morning the hole that the last skunk dug looked bigger and looked like it was freshly dug and there were no eggs this morning and then I thought about it and some times there would not just be one hole under the coop but two I just thought the skunk dug two holes but know I'm thinking theres two :barnie

use a high powered gun. a .22 or pellet gun is not suitable for a quick kill.
..

Your obviously not up to date on the pellet rifles. I'm not taking about the ones at your big box sporting goods store.

These new pellet rifles are incredible.
Fully capable of dispatching coons and such. Some are powerful enough, and have been used to drop wild boar in there tracks.

Very possible you've got a family of them in the neighborhood. Keep the trap set for the next few days.

hi so i have a skunk getting in my coop i know its a skunk cuz last night it was walking up to the coop and we saw it but im putting a live trap out but i dont know if i should shoot it or relocate it i really want to relocate it but my brother is the one that will be handling it and he does not want it in the tail gate of his truck cuz of the smell so what she we do with it
If it stinks your just going to have to bathe it. they like a little conditioner in the water to. Dont forget to wash be hind the ears to they like that.

Back in my trapping days I remember getting sprayed 3 times and twice in the eye by the same skunk trying to let him out of a leg hold trap i set for a racoon i wanted to keep to train my tree hounds. I finally got him or her out of the trap but i could not see or breath . I thought for sure i was going to die it got me in both eyes twice from less than 12" away.all 3 times were in the face though the "little creep" waited the last two times for me to get down on my knees and get as close as i could to see to get it out of the trap !
