What to do with this foot?

Pics
@Carolyn Tearne can you post some pictures of your birds legs/feet so we can see?
The tea tree oil may be too strong and causing irritation, so vaseline, coconut oil, castor oil, other vegetable oil may be a better choice. Nu stock ointment here is also often used, or plain neosporin ointment or triple antibiotic ointment, not sure what is available to you there. Pictures would be helpful.

I’m sorry, I’ve been without internet access for the better part of the summer and am just seeing this post now. Mostly, it was lots of foot soaking 20-30 minutes daily, gently brushing with a soft toothbrush, and thickly slathering on a Vaseline, mineral oil, and petroleum based triple antibiotic ointment which I combined at a very low heat (it was winter in Canada and the mineral oil made it easier to work with and it seemed to penetrate under the scales better). I personally now also treat rescues with SLM with ivermectin cattle pour on, but that is not approved for use in poultry and a personal choice, if it is available in your area. The powders (lime, DE, etc) don’t have a great effect on the leg mites as they live under the scales where those treatments can’t reach.
