What to do with this foot?

’m thinking of emptying a small baby powder bottle and filling it with my carbaryl dusting powder to more easily poof it under her wings and at her butt
That might actually work well...let us know.
Will the cap come off BP to refill container?
Something similar that might also work is a small spice container with holes in cap.

Too bad you can't get permethrin....it's probably just as bad as carbaryl but I have a long and deep seated bias against carbaryl.

Why the bias against carbaryl? Asking because I would like to know... I can’t get permethrin easily anymore :hmm, but I used to use it and pyrethrum (the natural version of it) when I was working in a small greenhouse for spider mites on the plants... getting the carbaryl was a huge hassle as well here.

High ideals from back in my crunchy mama days...it's nasty, kills all 'bugs', lingers in the environment....but permethrin probably does too.
Yep... beneficials too sadly. Luckily I haven’t seen any bees crawling around the chicken coop or biting my cows (must kill all bot flies!!! And boy can that bull JUMP when a horse fly bites him!)

The natural pyrethrum version isn’t quite as effective (on plants that is) but it’s not as pervasive in the environment.

What bugs me about the carbaryl is the carcinogenic quality.

I’m thinking of emptying a small baby powder bottle and filling it with my carbaryl dusting powder to more easily poof it under her wings and at her butt... last time I went in with a loaded up facecloth and assulted the birds with that... chase, grab, powder, toss into storage area of coop then repeat with next poor “victim”. It was a bit messy. The 1 kg bottle is a bit much, especially with all the flapping... any thoughts on this for a dispensing method? These chickens aren’t really used to handling...
I use a empty dish washing container (like dawn). I use a funnel with a dish rag over it and tap/pound the powder inside. Sometimes I use a spoon inside the funnel. Kinda messy to load the bottle but soooo easy to use. *hint don’t get the bottle too full you need air to make it poof*

Sounds about like the 'pest pistol' I've used...wasn't impressed with it, too big for me to operate it one handed...and it either didn't dispense anything or way too much came out.
Tried a stocking too, had wrong kind I think...ended up using gloves and fingers to get dust under feathers. Went to using liquid spray after that.

Someone posted that Canadians can't get carbaryl anymore, so try not to waste too much (note that I am just repeating what some here said, I have no idea how true it is).

That is clever! I've got an empty one currently in the recycle bin. I will grab it and recycle it this way! Thanks for sharing!!!
