Hubby has forbidden me to kill any chicken. lol I haven't, yet, gained the skill, but I will. So, it's off to the Amish woman....after I get a couple of replacements on the way. I have already decided that the nasty roo goes 1st!

Hubby has forbidden !!!!!!!!!

I love my hubby so dearly and I know how grossed out he'd be. Last night, I mentioned that if I catch that mouse that's in my house, I'll feed it to the chickens. His response? In his darling British accent and with horror he asked, "Don't you think that a bit savage?"

You're kidding me, right? All this from a war-seasoned, gulf war vet. He served in the Royal Navy in 1991 while we were bombing Hussein.

He won't eat anything w/bones and is finicky....but, not as much as when I married him 10 yrs ago, thanks to me. If he knew I'd actually killed our meal.....he'd never eat my cooking, again. He told me before we even moved to the farm, "I Am Not killing chickens....and Neither are You!" I laughed hysterically, but I knew what he meant. I do submit to him.......as best as I can.

A pressure cooker is a great thing to have when you have old roosters

I pressure cook them to make them tender and then fry them.

I would keep one of them.
Some of the aggressivness may be due to being (pardon the pun ) "cooped up"
or may be just be having to be with the other roosters.
Pick out the most gentle one and hang on to him for awhile and see what happens.
They all may mellow out when the weather changes. If you like them I would try to figure a way to keep them, but if not then freezer camp may be the best option for you.
If you do get new roos, they will adjust to the flock of hens and vice versa.
But, if you bring in new roos and put with the roos you have, then they will fight to establish a pecking order.

Sounds like a spouse pow-wow is in order! Ha!

I had three too many Roo's. They are at freezer camp now. My girls are MUCH happier with just one roo.
