I have read your other post about the sick hens. Because you have gone through this, you deserve the amazing fun of baby chicks! My vote is in the "order pullets" camp.

You CAN rehome roosters on CL. I have done this. Because I am not especially comfortable having random people visit my home AND because the interested parties have not lived in my town, I have spent countless hours driving for meetings held in the parking lots of fastfood restaurants. Just to rehome a rooster(!) I have a pending order for 25 pullets. I don't need all 25. Half will go to a business associate. Amazing how people will give you a fast yes to the question: Wanna split a box of pullets?

Ask someone: Wanna rooster? This is what you get ----> [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Quote:THANKS! It was a depressing start with those sick pullets but I'm all smiles now. I bought four female chicks last night (3 Sexlinked & 1 Ameraucana) + 1 White Silkie & 1 Belgium Quail Antwerp which the seller said she'd take back if they turn out to be roos. She did say that the Silkie roos are not to bad on the noisy side and they are so cute I don't know if I could return him.

I posted some pics in another post -
