Have bielfelder hen that has been sitting on eggs. Started hatching last night. Saw three this morning. Found one in hutch, out of nest, wet and extremely weak. Have another hen now trying to sit on nest with broody hen. She still has several eggs under her. Should I do something to protect the chicks or will she take care of everything. I have placed food and water near her. The other hens and rooster have been curious and checked on her through the day.

She should take care of them for the most part but take the cold isolated chick inside and put a blow dryer on it on a low heat setting. You have to get it warmed up. It will eventually recover if kept warm enough.

Lose the food and water for now.
If front of nest low enough for chicks to fall out, put something there to make it higher.

Put the isolated chick in warm blanket with heat source near it. After an hour it is perking up, moving and peeping.
