What to do??

Just added another dimension.....Was told that eggs were on the way. A tracking number was included with the company mentioned. I've tried to track the shipment using the number and it isn't connected to the company or any of the other companies. (usps/fedex/ups) I emailed for a correct number and have had no response. This person isn't being cooperative and I paid nearly $100 for these *expletive* eggs. Now they are 5 days late for setting, expensive, and so far a no show. Regardless of the weather, communications should have been much better. Even more so because of the weather! You still don't think I should be upset? Would love to be calmed down at this point as I'm pretty angry.

What day did they supposedly ship?
I have to admit, if I paid almost $100 for eggs and there was no communication, I'd probably be peeved as well.
What the seller should have told you was that they would wait until there were a few days of good weather forecast before they shipped them.

Still no response. The tracking number finally shows up with fedex and it says shipped today. That is 4 days later thans I was told and it won't arrive until Thursday. As far as I see this is just poor, poor seller. I Will be giving her a poor rating. I'm peeved and most probably out 86.00. Just plain ticked.

These eggs were supposed to be part of one incubation. I have 6 doz in the incubator and won't jeopardize those with the new eggs. The still not delivered eggs have been sitting at Fed Ex for four days and won't arrive for at least 2 more. Too long in transit for me!

I guess I am confused on how these eggs would effect the ones that are in the incubator now. I stagger hatch all the time.... Usually setting eggs every 7 days (so they hatch on Saturday) with a near 100% hatch rate.

I don't see how these would effect the setting eggs at all.... They definitely won't hatch if you don't set them.... Where are they being sent from?

If you paid with Pay Pal you should not be out the money. It is fairly simple to report the problem, and Pay Pal is very good about refunding you the money. At this point with the tracking number just now showing up and the poor communication of the seller I think I would still try one more time trying to contacting the seller, and seeing if they will make the sale right by shipping fresh eggs. I know that if I had been the seller I would have been trying to explain what was going on, and trying to make things better. Nothing could have change the weather conditions, and anything that you bought from the seller would have been delayed by the weather. So that can't be blamed on the seller. But the delay in the shipping method, and the lack of communication is a seller problem. Give them a chance to make it right, and if you still don't have any better information about a resolution, when contact Pay Pal, and report that the sale was for time sensitive items and that they are no longer of any value.

I hope you get your refund. If it had been me as the seller and I was buried under a ton of snow, I would have been letting you know what was happing as soon as possible. The seller should have also taken into account that the system was going to be backed up because of the weather delays. So she should have delayed the eggs from her end even further. I know that this is not what you wanted, but still I would rather send you eggs that will most likely hatch, than ones that will not hatch.

Also FedEx packages are automatically insured for a minimum of a hundred dollars so you could always try a claim against them for the delayed shipping.

I find most of the time that I order from a person and not a business,,the tracking numbers dont do me any good,,usually I have the product before it says anything other then "in transit" another thought, when doing things like this is to get a phone number right away and right it down,,that way if the puter has problems you can get ahold of the person,,unless they dont have electricity to charge the phones..thats why I always have car chargers.

USPS tracking numbers, including those that they send via FedEx are pretty useless for actually keeping track of where the shipment is. UPS and non-USPS FedEx tracking is very efficient.

If the seller delivered the eggs to the shipper as stated, but they held onto them, it is really not the seller's fault unless they told him/her that they would not ship until ____.

I too, see no problem with a staggered hatch; it really will not affect the eggs currently in the incubator. That you purchsed other eggs for a single incubation, and weather did not cooperate is not the seller's fault. DId you ever state: "I must have the eggs by X date as I plan a single incubation. If I cannot get them by that date, I want a reund instead"? Of course, if you purchased in an auction, you are bound to the terms of the sale, unless the seller chooses to release you. You did not have to purchase the eggs, and it honestly sounds as if buyer's remorse is setting in. There are parts of the country that are STILL having bad weather and related email problems.
