what to feed a roo for showing

I currently own a Black Copper Marans roo who just turned one! I've he has a good temper oddly and I wanted to put him into the county fair. but as of now his brother (an EE) and a bossy hen have been tugging at his pretty tail feathers and they are half broken off :/ I'd like them to grow back. will they in two months? Any way I can help him? also what should i feed him to make him look the best? i have a second coop i can keep him in with another hen, so the other roo wont pull him...
