yes thank you would like to get some wheat also will have to check around to see if i can find some for this winter!!You are absolutely right. NEVER feed ducklings MEDICATED CHICK STARTER!!!!! Ducklings eat 10X as much feed as baby chicks and would consume way too much of the medication - which is for preventing coccidia. Ducklings do not get coccidia so there is no need to medicate them. PERIOD! You can start them on chick starter or flock starter. Just make sure that the protein is between 18 and 20% and that it has NIACIN! Chopped up greens (NO SPINACH), crushed hard boiled eggs, oats, corn meal, watermelon and cantaloup are great treats for them too. As they get older you can add fruits and veggies to your ice cubes. Just freeze these veggie cubes and then put them in their pool. The ducks will have a blast chasing the cubes and nibbling on the treats as they thaw out. Wheat is another thing you'd want to feed to your adult and growing ducks. One thing that I've had trouble locating in the past. But I have a source now. Ducks love it and they are thriving on a mix of 75% chicken layer and 25% wheat with grains and corn added in the winter! Hope this helps!![]()
i heard that you SHOULD NOT feed medicatd to ducks it will kill them i will stick with nonmedicated and not take the chanceActually, you can feed them medicated chick feed, I fed mine and they're all doing great. You just have to make sure it doesn't contain arsenic.
