What to Feed Ducklings

Hi everyone,

I'll be getting Appleyard ducklings in about a month. Do I feed them chick starter or is there food specifically for ducklings?

Thank you!!

@The Chicken-Boy There is feed for ducklings called duckling starter but I have never seen it in my part of the country. So I use Purina Flock Raiser and sometimes starter for chicks. If you decide to use the Flock raiser be sure to get crumble and also the advantage of starting them off on FR is you don't have to ever switch feeds they can stay on it all their lives. You'll also need to supplement what ever you use with Brewers yeast for the first 10 weeks of their lives so they get plenty of Niacin for strong legs and strong brain function. 1 Tab of BY sprinkled over each cup of feed.
Some use niacin instead of BY but sometimes it's hard to find plain niacin and that is what we have to use not flush free or time released. But since you have a month you maybe able to find it online. they need 150megs of niacin per gallon of drinking water daily.

Thank you! I'll look into those things!
